Demolition of the Olympic Center Link Building started late last week. The second floor of the Link Building housed the state Olympic Regional Development Authority administrative offices, plus a cafe with views of the Oval, High Peaks, ski jumps and bobsled track. The first floor housed the box office and Lake Placid Olympic Museum. ORDA plans to build a new office building on a former hospital site on Church Street, and the offices in the Link Building will be converted. Once complete, the Link Building will have an outdoor deck on the second floor that’s accessible to the public, expanded dining space, interpretive displays and an expanded space for the museum.
