SARANAC LAKE — Franklin County Public Health will hold a COVID-19 vaccination clinic at the Saranac Lake Free Library on Thursday for all who are 18 or older and live, work or study in New York state.

One hundred Moderna vaccine will be available. The clinic is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Walk-ins will be welcomed.

“We will get walk-ins registered and vaccinated,” Franklin County Director of Public Health Katie Strack said in a press release. “We want to get vaccines into as many folks as we can.”

Preregistration, however, will speed up the process. If you can preregister, do so at “https://tinyurl.com/jp8w6jtc”>https://tinyurl.com/jp8w6jtc. This link is also posted on Franklin County’s website at https://www.franklincountyny.gov, under “Coronavirus updates and guidance.”

This clinic will also be able to help those who have gotten their first Moderna shots in another location and have been unable to get their second Moderna vaccine. Indicate at registration if this is the case for you.

“The Saranac Lake Free Library is very happy to assist in this effort and demonstrate another way that libraries help their communities,” library Director Peter Benson said.

For those who need assistance with registration or transportation, these agencies are willing and able to help:

¯ Tri-Lakes Center for Independent Living, 518-891- 5295

¯ Franklin County Office for the Aging, 518-481-1526

¯ COVID-19 Call Center, 518-481-1111.

The county asks people to tell their health care providers they’ve been vaccinated so they can update records.
