Saranac Lake Spring Clean-Up Weekends are coming in May

SARANAC LAKE — The Saranac Lake Area Chamber of Commerce is coordinating two Spring Clean-Up Weekends for May 7 to 9 and May 14 to 16.

Cleaning efforts will focus on trash pick-up on municipal property and public parks surrounding the village of Saranac Lake.

Between the hours of 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. on the designated cleanup days, interested volunteers can visit the Saranac Lake Welcome Center at the Harrietstown Town Hall, 39 Main St., to pick up trash bags, rubber gloves, location assignments and cleanup directions.

All filled trash bags should get deposited next to a village municipal garbage can if not otherwise directed by chamber staff to deposit at specific locations. The village of Saranac Lake is partnering with the chamber to provide supplies and trash pick up.

All cleanup day volunteers must register at the Saranac Lake Welcome Center. Masks are required for all participants. A limited supply of masks will be available for each weekend. Also, all cleanup day volunteers must adhere to proper U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines, including but not limited to social distancing and mask wearing.

Ahead of the weekends, the chamber is working with village staff and community members to identify areas that need attention. If a community member has a specific suggestion that person can email “mailto:director@slareachamber.org”>director@slareachamber.org with the subject line “Spring Clean Up 2021″ or call 518-891-1991. Interested volunteers can also email director@slareachamber.org or call 518-891-1991 to register or request a specific location.
