Tupper students’ Shakespeare series starts tonight

TUPPER LAKE — Weeks of rehearsals and recording sessions have been done remotely on Google Meet, finishing touches are being put on video production, and now the Red and Black Players of Tupper Lake Middle/High School are ready to stream three “Shakespeare Shorties” as their winter play today through Friday.

The first play, “Macbeth,” will be streamed today; the second play, “The Tempest,” on Thursday; and the third, “Twelfth Night,” on Friday. All streams begin at 7 p.m. and will be free to view.

To attend, go to the Red and Black Players’ YouTube Channel (open YouTube on your computer or other device, search “Red and Black Players” to find the channel, then click on “upcoming live streams”), or just go to the Red and Black Players Facebook page and click on the links.

After streaming, these videos will remain online to view whenever “one shalt wisheth.”

These shortened versions of Shakespeare’s classics were adapted by Diane M. Swanson and are directed and produced by George and Elizabeth Cordes of Tupper Lake.

The cast for all three plays features Emileigh Smith, Jenna Switzer, Shea Arsenault, Lowden Pratt, Emily Sipler, Cody Auclair, Ayden Rabideau, Nolan Savage, Dane O’Connor, Meika Nadeau, Olivia Ellis, Raegan Fritts, Antwon Gachowski, Amelia Pratt, Elli Dukett, Haylee Callaghan and Nevaeh Toohey.
