SARANAC LAKE — After eight years, Jennifer Hunt will leave her position as executive director of the Adirondack Carousel to pursue other opportunities. Her successor is Ashley Milne, a member of the carousel board as well as a councilwoman for the town of Harrietstown.

“We wish to thank Jennifer for her steadfast service to the Carousel, particularly in the past, especially difficult year when we have been unable to open due to COVID-19 restrictions,” board President Emily Fogarty said. “Despite this, we remain in a strong financial position, and are hopeful of being able to reopen this summer. We wish her well in her new endeavors.”

Milne has agreed to take up her new position immediately on a part-time basis and is expected to move to full-time when the carousel is able to reopen.

“Ashley brings a wealth of experience in nonprofit management and fundraising to this position, and we look forward to resuming full operations with Ashley at the helm,” Fogarty said.

Milne, originally from Idaho, moved to Saranac Lake in 2018, was elected to the Harrietstown board in 2019 and has gotten involved in various local activities and organizations. She and her husband Andrew Milne have two children.
