SARANAC LAKE — Saranac Lake ArtWorks is trying an Online Holiday ArtMarket as another new way for artists to make a living amid the pandemic.

The online platform hosted at www.saranaclakeartworks.org is showcasing more than 20 local artists’ works that may be purchased directly from ArtWorks, the nonprofit umbrella organization for visual artists, performing artists, literary artists and cultural organizations in the greater Saranac Lake region.

In 2019, ArtWorks held its first-ever Black Friday Arts Sale at the Hotel Saranac, which was considered a success. The plan was to make it an annual event, but due to the pandemic, it will not be repeated this year. The new Online ArtMarket is the latest in a line of alternate plans to connect Adirondack artists to the community that wants to buy their work.

The Online Market is live now through Dec. 15 with the promise that the works will be shipped promptly and arrive by Dec. 25.

The works featured range from oil paintings and photographs to fused glass and jewelry. When items sell, they will be replaced with new ones.
