Community Bank shifts to drive-thru service only

Community Bank will close all its branch lobbies, starting today.

The company announced the shift to drive-thru service only, with limited in-person service by appointment, in a news release Tuesday. The shift is effective until further notice.

“We believe this decision is both conservative and prudent considering the current information the (U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) has provided about COVID-19,” Hal Wentworth, Community Bank senior vice president for retail banking, said in a statement. “We appreciate our customers’ continued support and understanding in this difficult time of uncertainty. Together, we can all do our part to help protect our local communities.”

To make an appointment for in-person service, customers are encouraged to call their local branches.

Community Bank’s ATMs and secure night depositories will remain operational during this time. The bank’s online, mobile and phone banking options will also still be up and running. If customers aren’t enrolled yet in online or mobile banking, they can visit cbna.com or contact customer service for assistance at 1-866-764-8638, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
