Overnight street parking bans start, to allow for plowing

Winter parking bans begin going into effect in two of the Tri-Lakes villages this weekend.

Starting after midnight on Sunday, Nov. 1 in both Saranac Lake and Lake Placid, all vehicles must be parked off the street from 2 to 6 a.m. The parking ban will be in effect until April 15, 2021.

In Tupper Lake, the ban begins on Nov. 15 but is otherwise the same as in Saranac Lake and Lake Placid.

The annual ban allows the village Departments of Public Works to conduct regular snow removal.

And a note for those who are out very early Sunday morning: Daylight Savings Time begins at 2 a.m.
