Man charged with making meth

LAKE PLACID — A man has been arrested for allegedly making methamphetamine in his Saranac Avenue home.

New York State Police responded at 11:37 p.m. Oct. 17 to a report of meth being manufactured with a one-pot method at a residence on Saranac Avenue in the town of North Elba but outside of the village of Lake Placid.

They charged Michael A. Pelkey, 32, with second-degree manufacturing methamphetamine, a felony. In addition, State Police say there was a warrant issued for him for a parole violation.

Pelkey was arraigned in North Elba town court and remanded to the Essex County Jail without bail. He remained in jail Wednesday, according to the Essex County Sheriff’s Office.
