Saranac Laker will speak at global suicide prevention summit

SARANAC LAKE — Kathleen carterMartinez will be a presenter at the Hope Rising for Suicide Prevention Virtual Summit online Saturday.

The Saranac Lake resident runs the Cheywind Center for Trauma and Healing here. She will present her film “Where Do We Come From? Where Do We Go?” about living with the loss of loved ones. Her presentation is scheduled for 7 to 8 p.m., part of a three-person session called “Different Voices, Blended Hearts — The Intersectionality of Recovery & Healing of a Suicide Attempt Survivor & the Impacted Family Member.”

The global summit will be held from noon to midnight. Attendance is free and will feature more than 100 speakers, according to its website www.hoperising.one.
