KEENE VALLEY — National health experts predict that the official U.S. death toll from the COVID-19 pandemic will reach 200,000 on or about today. To mark this tragic milestone in this nation’s history, the Keene Valley Congregational Church will ring its bell 200 times, once for each 1,000 people who have died from the pandemic, beginning at 12:15 p.m. today.

This is meant to be a time to remember those who have died, give thanks for all who continue to work to support communities around our nation, and invite hope to continue the journey ahead.

People who gather to experience the tolling on the front lawn of the church are asked to practice social distancing and wear masks, as needed.
