Farm 2 Fork fest will be streamlined

SARANAC LAKE — The 11th annual Farm 2 Fork Festival is still happening this Labor Day weekend, though in a vastly different way than in previous years, thanks to the pandemic.

No tents, no crowds, no eating in the park. Rather this year will be further streamlined, with meals pre-ordered online in the form of two picnic basket options. Organizer Amanda Ely said that the baskets, which can be ordered at www.Farm2ForkFestival.com, will feed one to two people and are $26.

One option includes heirloom tomato salad with arugula, herb oil and queso fresco from Juniper Hill Farm; and an Atlas Hoofed It smoked ham and braised pork tenderloin sandwich from Barley Sandwich with Gruyere on a baguette from Cake Flour Bakery. A vegetarian option includes a sandwich of charred summer squash, grilled onions, tomatoes and herbs from Fledgling Crow with garlic hummus and a baguette from Cake Flour Bakery; and herbed potato salad with spinach, grilled squash and chimichurri from Juniper Hill. Both options include potato salad from Green Goddess; and red velvet cake from Early Dawn Confections and I Do Wedding Cakes. Drinks from Hid-In-Pines Vineyard, Raquette River Brewing, Nine Pin Cider and Hex and Hop Brewing are available to order.
