Adirondack Foundation to #ToastADK Aug. 14

LAKE PLACID — Adirondack Foundation’s annual summer party is going digital.

“Toast the Adirondacks: An Online Celebration of Community and Philanthropy” will stream live on Friday, Aug. 14 starting at 4:30 p.m. Everyone is welcome to attend.

The Foundation serves as the philanthropic hub for the Adirondack region and recently closed out a record-breaking $5.4 million year in grantmaking.

Since March, community members have collectively contributed more than $1 million to help with COVID-19 response efforts in the Adirondacks. From Plattsburgh to Malone, Old Forge to Cranberry Lake, Lake George to Keeseville and communities in between, these funds are helping to provide food assistance, child care, financial relief and more for people experiencing economic hardship.

“We’ve been heartbroken by the stories of need, and yet uplifted by the generous and innovative responses we are seeing in our communities,” said Cali Brooks, president and CEO. “This event is about hope, resilience and compassion.”

The live event will feature grant recipients. A $1,000 grant from the Foundation’s Generous Acts Fund and other giveaways will also be up for grabs to a randomly chosen winner, who will be able to direct it to a local organization of their choice.

Instructions on how to enter for a chance to win the grant or other giveaways and how to register for the event can be found at adirondackfoundation.org/ToastADK.

Attendees are also encouraged to raise a glass to neighbors helping neighbors using special event signature cocktails and mocktails created by Lake Placid Spirits, and to share their own toast using #ToastADK on social media before, during and after the live event.
