Road work will slow traffic this week in Saranac Lake

SARANAC LAKE — Separate road work projects nearby will delay traffic this coming week.

The five-story Saranac Waterfront Lodge, being built on the shore of Lake Flower, is connecting to the village sewer system this week, according to an announcement Friday from its engineering firm, North Woods Engineering of Saranac Lake. Lake Flower Avenue will be reduced to a single, controlled lane in front of the hotel on two days this coming week to install the sewer line, and then for part of two other days to restore the road.

Less than a block away, the village Department of Public Works announced Friday it is scheduled to begin curb installation on nearby Brandy Brook Avenue at 7 a.m. Monday. At the same time, the Reale construction company is scheduled to begin paving on Brandy Brook Avenue as well as on Pine Street from Brandy Brook to Payeville Lane. During this time, both sections of road will be closed to all through traffic.
