Lake Placid Airport set to receive $555,555 in funding from FAA

LAKE PLACID — Lake Placid Airport is set to receive $555,555 from the Federal Aviation Administration.

Airports in Albany, Plattsburgh, Columbia County, Ticonderoga and Queensbury will also share in $8.9 million in FAA funding, New York’s U.S. senators announced Thursday.

The senators said the funding will be used for a variety of airport safety and quality improvement projects, including rehabilitating runways, reconstructing aprons, rehabilitating terminals, acquiring snow removal equipment, acquiring aircraft rescue and firefighting safety equipment, and conducting or updating studies.
