APA to meet virtually on Thursday

RAY BROOK — The Adirondack Park Agency will hold its monthly meeting Thursday, July 16, and the public is asked to attend virtually though a webcast which can be found at nysapa.granicus.com/ViewPublisher.php?view_id=2.

At 1 p.m. the Regulatory Programs Committee will consider approval for a new 150-foot-tall telecommunications tower in the Hamlet area of the Town of Newcomb.

At 2 p.m. the Park Policy and Planning Committee will consider approving a proposed amendment to the Adirondack Park Land Use and Development Plan Map. The Town of North Elba has requested to re-classify approximately 34.5 acres of private land from Moderate Intensity Use to Hamlet. The proposed map amendment area is located along Barn Road approximately 0.75 miles west of the Village of Lake Placid and south of state Route 86.

At 3 p.m. the State Land Committee will hear a presentation from state Department of Environmental Conservation staff on a proposed amendment to the Essex Chain Lakes Unit Management Plan. The presentation is for information only.

The board will not take any action at this time.

At 3:45 p.m. the full agency will convene to take any necessary actions and hear member and Local Government Review Board comment.
