SARANAC LAKE — The Saranac Lake Kiwanis and the Aktion Club got together recently for highway cleanup on state Route 3 from Lake Street to the Second Pond boat launch — the western gateway to Saranac Lake.

Aside from one good life preserver and a 9/16 wrench, it was the usual construction debris, beer cans and fast-food containers.

The award for heaviest bag of the day went to Lisa Paschke.
