Library decisions are also on Lake Placid school ballot

LAKE PLACID — The Lake Placid Public Library will hold its budget and board vote by absentee ballot on Tuesday, June 9, along with the school district budget and board vote.

School district voters will also be asked to select one candidate for the Lake Placid Public Library Board of Trustees to fulfill one expired five-year term, from July 2020 to June 2025. To be eligible to vote, an individual must be a United States citizen, a resident of the Lake Placid Central School District for at least 30 days and be 18 years of age.

The Lake Placid Public Library was established in 1884. Today it is chartered to serve the area encompassed by the Lake Placid Central School District, although membership is not limited to it. The Lake Placid Public Library seeks to provide educational, informational and recreational material for the enjoyment of the community. Its principal source of income comes from the Lake Placid Central School District tax base.

For further information or questions regarding the library budget, contact Bambi Pedu at librarian@lakeplacidlibrary.org, or speak to one of the current library trustees listed at www.lakeplacidlibrary.org.
