Lady in red

A large clover mite crawls on a laptop computer. This little creature is an arachnid, meaning it has eight legs, though the front two can be mistaken for antennae, because the mites “feel” around with them. They reproduce asexually, through a process known as parthenogenesis, in which embryos do not need to be fertilized. This means their entire species is female. (Enterprise photo — Aaron Cerbone)
