Juried Art Show at Artists Guild

SARANAC LAKE – It’s March, and that means it’s time for the juried art show at the Adirondack Artists Guild.

This year’s show will run from March 13 to April 19.

Interested artists may download a prospectus and entry form from the Guild’s website, adirondackartistsguild.com.

Work should be dropped off at the gallery March 6-8 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The juror’s decisions will be posted on the Guild’s website by March 10.

A reception will be held on Friday, March 13 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the gallery, with awards to be announced at 6 p.m. Voting for the People’s Choice award, donated yearly by a friend of the arts, will continue through the end of the show.

This year’s juror, Matt Burnett, is a native of the Adirondacks. He graduated from SUNY Plattsburgh with a BA in Fine Arts, concentrating in painting and photography, and earned an MFA in Fine Arts from Maine College of Art. Working in paint, multimedia and environmental installation Burnett explores the history, paradoxes and environmental dilemmas of nature/culture relationships. Burnett will talk about his work on Sunday, April 5 at 3 p.m. at the gallery.

The Adirondack Artists Guild is a cooperative retail art gallery representing a diverse group of artists residing and working in the Tri-Lakes region of the Adirondack Park. The gallery is located at 52 Main St., Saranac Lake. Gallery hours are Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sundays. Call 518 891-2615 for more info.
