SARANAC LAKE — A woman was sent to the hospital after being hit by a slow-moving vehicle Monday.

At 12:30 p.m., Brandon Devito, 38, of Saranac Lake was making a left turn out of the Tops supermarket parking lot on Church Street. He didn’t Ida Horsler, 69, of Saranac Lake crossing the road and struck her with his Jeep SUV, village police Chief Chuck Potthast said.

Horsler was taken to the Adirondack Medical Center for leg and hip pain, and Devito was issued a ticket for failure to give a pedestrian the right of way.
