Keene Central School student Lucas Brown, 9, paints a tile depicting the head of Gray Dawn, the white horse that famed women’s suffragette Inez Milholland rode while leading the 1913 Women’s Suffrage Parade in Washington, D.C. Milholland’s family had ties to Lewis. Brown and his classmates painted tiles at the school Thursday before assembling a mosaic, with direction from Alfred University’s Art Force 5 group, in honor of Milholland later in the evening.
