AuSABLE FORKS — The University of Vermont Health Network’s Elizabethtown Community Hospital will host a meet-and-greet event on Thursday, Jan. 30 from 3:30 to 5 p.m. to welcome Brenda Beutel, family nurse practitioner, to its care team at the AuSable Forks Health Center, 15 Pleasant St.

The event, which includes free blood pressure, cholesterol and A1c screenings, is open to the public.

“Brenda is an excellent addition to our community health center team,” said Dr. Rob Demuro, medical director for primary care at Elizabethtown Community Hospital. “Her interest in women’s health and her whole-patient care approach is a wonderful complement to our primary care providers, and will help us continue to meet the health care needs of the AuSable Forks community.”

Beutel will draw from her many years as a critical-care nurse and nurse manager, as well as her time as a school nurse for special-needs children, to work with patients of all ages.

She is board-certified in family medicine by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and certified in critical care by the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Niagara University, a Master of Science in Nursing degree from University of Phoenix, and a Post Master’s Family Nurse Practitioner Certificate from D’Youville College in Buffalo.

She is accepting new patients in AuSable Forks and Elizabethtown. For more information or to schedule an appointment, call the AuSable Forks Health Center at 518-647-8164 or the Elizabethtown Community Health Center at 518-873-6896.
