SARANAC LAKE — The village Board of Trustees approved to put two vacant lots on Broadway up for public auction at Monday night’s board meeting.

The board referred to the two lots, which the village will sell as one item, as 400 Broadway. They’re between Taylor Rental and the Saranac Lake Baptist Church.

“I think the last year or two we’ve been trying to get rid of it,” said village Manager John Sweeney in a phone interview. “There’s really no reason for us to hold on to it.”

The lot directly next to the church is a cleared 1.39 acres. The lot next to that is an uncleared 1.74 acres.

The public auction will be held Friday, Jan. 24 at 4 p.m. at the Harrietstown Town Hall, and the minimum bid is $50,000.
