SARANAC LAKE — The village development board approved a site plan review for a wine bar on Broadway at Tuesday night’s board meeting.

Crystal Medley and Troy James are looking to set up a wine bar called Lady Rose at 13 Broadway, the currently empty storefront next to the Adirondack Center for Loon Conservation, facing Woodruff Street.

Medley said the roughly 500-square-foot business would mainly be for beverages but also offer small snacks like cheese plates and charcuterie boards.

Village Development Code Administrator Paul Blaine pointed out a porch area in the rear of the building was lacking support and needed repair.

The site plan was approved under the condition that a screened-in rubbish area be located on the property and that the porch support beam gets fixed.
