Drumstick roll … Wing Wars XII is Sunday

LAKE PLACID — Wing Wars XII will take place Sunday, Nov. 10 from 1 to 4 p.m. at High Peak Resort’s ballroom.

Fans of chicken wings are invited to come hungry to enjoy some of the best wings in the region while raising funds for North Country Life Flight. Chefs are busy honing their recipes to offer a creative and scrumptious variety of flavors and sauces, all hoping to take home the Wing Wars XII trophy.

Attendees vote for their favorite wing recipes to crown the champion. The admission cost is $15 at the door, to benefit Life Flight, and that covers all the chicken wings you can eat, plus your ballot to cast for your favorites. The first 100 attendees will each receive a free Wing Wars T-shirt.

Participating restaurants for Wing Wars XII are Smoke Signals Restaurant in Lake Placid, Generations Tap and Grill in Lake Placid, the Lake Placid Conference Center, Peak 47 at Whiteface Lodge in Lake Placid, Price Chopper in Lake Placid, Cloudspin Lounge at Whiteface Mountain Ski Center in Wilmington, Blue Line Brewery in Saranac Lake, Lisa G’s in Lake Placid, the Olympic Cafe, the Redneck Bistro of Lake Placid, the Pickled Pig of Lake Placid, and the Dancing Bears Restaurant of Lake Placid.

Raffles and a silent auction will also be part of the festivities, all to benefit North Country Life Flight’s air medical rescue team now commemorating 30 years of service to the region.
