A moose swims across the Hitchens Pond section of the Bog River south of Tupper Lake on Oct. 8. Troy Zohner and Heather Slomski of Tupper Lake said they saw it while kayaking, kept quiet and maintained a respectful distance as the moose swam leisurely across the pond, shook the water off itself, paused briefly and returned to the woods.
