Mutt Strut 5K fun run slated for Sept. 22

LAKE PLACID — The Tri-Lakes Humane Society and North Country SPCA are teaming up again for the annual Mutt Strut 5K fun run, scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 22 at 10 a.m.

Jointly benefiting both organizations, all ages are welcome to join in the sixth year of this annual untimed fun run for humans and canines alike.

“This event is a great opportunity for both organizations to come together with our animal-loving community and the dogs they love most,” Carla M. Stroud, shelter director at the Tri-Lakes Humane Society, said in a press release. “It’s such a fun way to show your support.”

“This is a fun event the whole family can get involved in,” added Bryeanna Villani, marketing and communications coordinator at the North Country SPCA.

The Mutt Strut fun run course will begin at the Lake Placid Olympic Speedskating Oval, turn down Main Street, loop around Mirror Lake and finish back at the Oval.

Registration will begin at 9 a.m., with the run kicking off at 10. Leashed dogs are welcome to run or walk with their owners.

Pre-registration cost is $20, and same-day registration costs $25. Registration fees include an event T-shirt. To pre-register, email cms@trilakeshumanesociety.org or bryeanna@ncspca.org, or call 518-891-0017 or 518-873-5000.
