WILMINGTON — The state Department of Environmental Conservation has announced that its Wilmington Notch campground, near Whiteface Mountain Ski Center, will close early this fall for repairs.

In a press release, the DEC said the campground will close on Wednesday, Sept. 4 so that a new well and water system can be installed. The campground typically stays open through Columbus Day.

Due to the closure, DEC’s Meadowbrook campground in Ray Brook will remain open through the Columbus Day weekend.

People with reservations for Wilmington Notch are being notified through Reserve America and reservations will be canceled and fees refunded.
