SARANAC LAKE — Mary Keating was given a plaque at Monday night’s village board meeting, honoring her musical talent.

In her final year at Saranac Lake High School, Keating was accepted into the All-Eastern Treble Choir in Pennsylvania, was for the second year accepted as all-state by the New York State School Music Association, and was accepted into the New York State Band Directors Association’s Honors Jazz Band.

Village Mayor Clyde Rabideau was aided in bestowing the plaque by two of the high school’s music teachers, Keith Kogut (band) and Andrew Benware (chorus), whom Rabideau also commended.

Starting in the fall, Keating will attend SUNY Potsdam’s Crane School of Music, where she plans to major in music education and minor in jazz studies.

Starting at $19.00/week.
