230 coming for Catholic Heart Workcamp

SARANAC LAKE — Catholic Heart Workcamp, a week-long service camp for teenagers, will come here from June 23 to 29.

Approximately 230 teens and adults from Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Connecticut and New Jersey will attend the camp. They will be housed at North Country Community College and will spend their week of service reaching out to those in need in the Saranac Lake area.

The teens will work on projects such as painting, cleaning, landscaping and general repairs at almost 90 area homes and churches.

Catholic Heart Workcamp began in 1993 in Orlando, Florida, with 100 campers and has grown to include more than 13,000 campers in 50 cities across the country, as well as several international camps. The goal is to provide teens with an opportunity to serve others and to live out and grow in their faith.

For more information, contact the Rev. Bryan Stitt, the camp’s chaplain, at 518-593-6044, or visit www.heartworkcamp.com.
