Saranac Lake mayor, chamber of commerce host public event Wednesday at Hotel Saranac

SARANAC LAKE — Saranac Lake Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Patrick Murphy and village Mayor Clyde Rabideau, are co-hosting a meet-and-greet with Empire Professional Baseball League Director of Business and Baseball Operations Eddie Gonzalez.

The event will occur at 5 p.m. Wednesday in the Great Hall Bar of Hotel Saranac. The public is welcome to attend.

Gonzalez is visiting Saranac Lake to coordinate with area representatives ahead of the Saranac Lake Surge’s summer 2019 season. The Surge recently relocated from Old Orchard Beach, Maine, to Saranac Lake with 25 home games scheduled at the high school baseball diamond beside Petrova school.

The event is designed to introduce Gonzalez to the community.

“This event allows us an opportunity to hear the latest developments for our Saranac Lake Surge, and I look forward to working with Eddie on how this team’s presence can provide an extra boost to our local businesses,” chamber director Murphy said in a press release.
