‘Round the Mountain canoe race set

SARANAC LAKE — The annual ‘Round the Mountain canoe race has been scheduled for Saturday, May 11 this year.

The 10.5-mile race starts at Ampersand Bay on Lower Saranac Lake and finishes at the Lake Flower boat launch. Racers go from Lower Saranac Lake into the Saranac River, carry around the Lower Locks and then through Oseetah Lake and into Lake Flower. The race will begin at 11 a.m.

The entry fee is $25 per paddler or $20 for Adirondack Watershed Alliance members. The race is put on by MAC’s Canoe Livery, along with AWA sponsors Wenonah Canoes, Cold River Coffee at The Blue Moon Cafe, Ampersand Bay Resort, the Town of Long Lake, the Central Adirondack Association, and Franklin County Tourism.
