Paddling Film Fest is today at LPCA

LAKE PLACID — Canoe and kayak adventure films from around the world will take the screen at the Lake Placid Center for the Arts at the Paddling Film Festival World Tour Saturday.

Tickets are $12 in advance at www.northernforestcanoetrail.org or $15 ($10 for students) at the show. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., and films begin at 7:30 p.m.

The event includes whitewater, adventure, canoeing, sea kayaking and instructional paddling films. The movie trailers can be seen online at www.paddlingfilmfestival.com.

Hosted by Adirondack Lakes and Trails and the Northern Forest Canoe Trail, the event is intended to help participants build connections to the larger paddling community. There will be gear raffles and refreshments.

Proceeds benefit the Northern Forest Canoe Trail, a 740-mile network that links the waterways of New York, Vermont, Quebec, New Hampshire and Maine. Through collaborative community partnerships, the trail organization contributes to the economic resilience of the region and promotes the health of its lands and waters.
