Elks Lodge gives back

The Saranac Lake Elks Lodge No. 1508 awarded the Mountain Mama Quilters a $500 grant in March supporting their work in providing service specific quilts to area veterans at the St. Joseph’s Veteran's Treatment Center in Saranac Lake and Mercy Care in Tupper Lake. The grant is part of the Elk's annual Gratitude Grant give away to several organizations chosen for their ability to serve people in need. The small group of quilters have presented over 85 quilts to local veterans since their first presentation in 2016.
