Adirondack Education Center to host Arbor Day open house
SARANAC LAKE — The Adirondack Education Center, which trains local high schoolers in several trades including natural resources and culinary arts, will host an Arbor Day event on Tuesday that is free and open to the public.
The school, located on state Route 3 outside of the village, will plant more than 150 trees at the campus, and is asking the public to help. People can also help create pollinator gardens, add to the school’s edible landscaping and enhance wetland habitat.
Anyone who attends will receive informational handouts and a free seedling to take home.
The event begins at 9 a.m. and goes until 2 p.m. at 711 State Highway 3, between Saranac Lake and Bloomingdale. People can follow the parking signs when they enter the parking lot.
