Saranac Lake work crews trim tree limbs

SARANAC LAKE — The village Department of Public Works will cut tree limbs overhanging roadways throughout the village from Monday, March 11 through April 18.

DPW Superintendent Jeff Dora said overhanging tree branches have caused a lot of damage to village plows and other equipment, as well as to other vehicles that are as tall as the DPW’s.

“All branches we trim are in our right of way and we will do our best to keep everything looking neat on the trees,” Dora wrote in an email.

He said this is the first time the village has had to do this in several years. He said crews will start on Park Avenue and proceed to Helen Street, the French Hill neighborhood, Lake Street and then the area around North Country Community College.

Dora said if homeowners have any questions they can call the DPW at 518-891-4160.
