NCCC president candidates to visit

SARANAC LAKE — North Country Community College students will have an opportunity to meet candidates to replace outgoing President Steve Tyrell when the finalists visit campus March 25-27, according to college officials.

An open meet-and-greet session will be held from 10 to 10:50 a.m. each day, with video conferencing at the campuses in Saranac Lake (HH105), Malone (RH107) and Ticonderoga (210). Evaluation forms will be available at the gatherings and and completed ones will be submitted to the NCCC Board of Trustees.

More information about the public forums will be released next week, but the college will not be announcing the names and biographies of the finalists until closer to the first event on March 25, according to NCCC Communications Director Chris Knight.

Tyrell announced last July that he will resign from his position in June of this year. The decision came a month after the college’s Board of Trustees renewed his contract for a year and two months.
