Man slips on ice, dislocates wife’s elbow
State Department of Environmental Conservation forest rangers responded to a request for help on Bald Mountain in the town of Webb this past Friday after a man slipped on ice and slammed into his 57-year-old wife, causing her to fall and dislocate her left elbow.
Rangers, environmental conservation officers and local emergency response began a rescue. At 4:28 p.m., a carry-out began utilizing rope lowering techniques due to the extremely icy conditions. Just after 6 p.m. the woman was back at the trailhead, where she was transferred to an Old Forge Rescue ambulance for transport to the hospital in Utica.
