House burns in Bloomingdale, but family can stay there

BLOOMINGDALE — Bloomingdale firefighters said flames were shooting out of the west side of a house when they arrived Friday evening and that they had the fire under control within 30 minutes.

The homeowners are able to stay the night in the house.

The Bloomingdale, Saranac Lake and Paul Smiths-Gabriels volunteer fire departments responded to the structure fire at 19 Kassavaw Way at 6:53 p.m. Members were back in service at 9:09 p.m.
