U.S. Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, D-N.Y., endorsed Tedra Cobb, Democratic candidate for New York’s 21st Congressional District, on Wednesday, according to a news release sent out from the Cobb campaign.

“From her work as a County Legislator to her advocacy for healthcare, Tedra has been a passionate voice who fights for the people in our communities,” Gillibrand was quoted as saying in the news release. “I am endorsing Tedra because she has a history of choosing problem-solving over partisanship and will be the type of leader in Washington the North Country deserves.”

Gillibrand formerly represented part of the current 21st District as U.S. House representative.

In late July, Gillibrand told the Times during an editorial board meeting she planned to endorse Cobb, who lives in Canton.
