Democrats face no opposition for village board

SARANAC LAKE — Patrick Murphy and Melinda Little are the only candidates for the two open seats on the village board, and current Mayor Clyde Rabideau is running unopposed for re-election.

After the village Republican caucus on Jan. 30, the local party announced no candidates. According to Franklin County GOP Chairman Ray Scollin, they also did not endorse any of the Democratic candidates.

The deadline to file a petition to run was Feb. 1, so the ballot is set. The village election is March 20.

The trustee and mayor terms are four years.
