DEC taking applications for pheasant hunting

RAY BROOK — The state Department of Environmental Conservation is accepting applications for a pheasant hunting program that provides pheasants for organized hunts.

The program provides state-reared pheasants to organizers who put together hunts for youth, women, novices, veterans and disabled people. The program aims to encourage experienced hunters to share their knowledge of pheasant hunting with the above groups.

Applications for the program must be received by the DEC by Friday, Sept. 1.
