LOON LAKE – The Loon Lake Mountain trail will be closed until the end of the year due to logging activity, the state Department of Environmental Conservation said in a press release.

The trail is on privately owned conservation easement lands, and Lyme Timber Company, which owns the land, is conducting a timber harvest in the area.

“DEC has closed public use of the trail and the easement lands in the area around the trail for public safety purposes until timber harvesting operations are completed on Dec. 30,” the department said.
