CATS to host old-growth forest talk
ESSEX – Champlain Area Trails will host a lecture on old-growth forests at the Whallonsburg Grange Friday.
The talk will begin at 7 p.m. and is free and open to the public.
Joan Maloof, who founded and is executive director of the Old-Growth Forest Network, will discuss the forests of the Adirondacks and eastern U.S. as well as talking about what an old-growth forest is, where they are and how they can be protected.
CATS, the Eddy Foundation, Northeast Wilderness Trust and the Wildlands Network are co-sponsoring this event and will have representatives at the talk.
