ELIZABETHTOWN — Elizabethtown Community Hospital, part of the University of Vermont Health Network, has been named a 2019 Guardian of Excellence Award winner by Press Ganey.

The award recognizes top-performing health care organizations that have achieved the 95th percentile or above of performance in patient experience. The emergency departments at the ECH and its Ticonderoga Campus are the recipients of the award, based on patient satisfaction scores.

It is the sixth time the hospital has won this award.

“In addition to our exceptional team of nurses, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and physicians in the emergency department, thanks goes to our entire staff for their commitment to ensuring an outstanding patient experience,” said Julie Tromblee, vice president and chief nursing officer at the hospital. “Everyone at the UVM Health Network – Elizabethtown Community Hospital takes pride in patient safety and satisfaction, and that is why we have been able to achieve this recognition six times.”

“This honor reflects the hospital’s unwavering commitment to improving the safety, quality and experience of care,” said Patrick T. Ryan, Executive Chairman of Press Ganey. “Their hard work and dedication are inspiring, and we are proud to partner with them on our shared mission to provide safe, high-quality, patient-centered care.”

Press Ganey is a private company that works with more than 41,000 health care facilities.
