Golden Arrow donates pet fees to Tri-Lakes Humane Society

LAKE PLACID — Golden Arrow Resort, a 165-room hotel on the shore of Mirror Lake, has a soft spot for pets. It has welcomed many dogs, cats and even a pig, and each year it donates 10% of all pet fees to a local humane society or animal-related charity.

On Friday, Jan. 10, hotel Marketing Strategist Joell Stetson met with Kade Hill at the Tri-Lakes Humane Society in Saranac Lake to present the donation and meet with the adoptable animals.

“We’re so grateful for the Golden Arrow’s generous support,” said Carla Stroud, shelter director at Tri-Lakes Humane Society. “This donation will make a big difference for the animals who come through our doors and ensure we can continue to provide quality care for animals in need.”

“The recipient of the pet fee donation alternates each year,” said Stetson. “One year we pick a local animal nonprofit such as the Tri-Lakes Humane Society, and in the alternate year, we pick our favorite ‘pet guests’ and allow them to designate the charity of their choice.

“The Humane Society is a great organization in the community,” Stetson added. “They work hard to find great homes for the animals in their care. I’ve personally adopted from them, so it means a lot to be able to give back in this way.”
