Police say Watertown woman killed cat by putting it in oven

WATERTOWN — Lilith M. West, 19, with no listed address, was charged Monday by city police with aggravated cruelty to animals, a felony, and petit larceny.

According to police records, West allegedly placed another person’s live cat in the oven, turned the heat on, and left the apartment, killing the cat. Police further allege she stole a cell phone, valued at $149, from the same victim.

For the petit larceny charge, West was held for arraignment in City Court with a stay-away order of protection requested from the victim.

For the cruelty to animals charge, West was held for arraignment in CAP Court.
