The Adelphi NY Statewide Breast Cancer Hotline and Support Program is urging New York women to be proactive about their health and schedule a mammogram.

“Sometimes we allow our busy lives to take over and we neglect basic health measures,” said Reyna Machado, the program director.

Those concerned about breast cancer can call the hotline at 800-877-8077 or text at 516-262-3263 to find out how to get a free or low-cost mammogram in their community or to get answers to questions they may have about breast cancer in English or Spanish.

The hotline is staffed by trained volunteers who are breast cancer survivors.
