Rocky recognized
Rocky Nogales, right, secretary of the Saranac Lake Fish and Game Club, has been honored with the 2025 Nellie Staves Award by the Franklin County Federation of Fish and Game Clubs. The federation, which includes six member clubs, held its annual awards dinner on Dec. 18 at Sugarloaf Inn and Cabins in Mountain View. Presenting the award was Mark Holt, federation president. The Staves award is named after the former head of fish and game clubs in the county who also led the Adirondack Conservation Council for several years. Staves, who died in 2009 at age 92, was inducted into the New York State Outdoorsman Hall of Fame in 2006 for her decades of environmental advocacy. (Provided photo)
